Art CV
I have drawn and painted since I was a child. Obsessively sketching imagined characters from books or favourite pop singers of the day, I could lose myself for hours.
Through much of my adult life, I have lost myself in studying and then working as a medical doctor and academic. Becoming more and more involved in making sense of the world through using big data. As Professor of Public Health I set up and led the Aberdeen Centre for Health Data Science. But even in that world of data, I remained fascinated by how we could create understanding through images.
Stepping away from Academia in 2024, I finally made space for my art. Initially allowing a passion the space to grow, developing skill and becoming absorbed in watercolours. Then, in June 2025, I took the exciting step of making my art available to others. Paths to Art was born and I began exhibiting and selling my art as originals, prints and cards.
2025 June Paths to Art went live as a website and store
